What will you personally take home from IUSY100?
Friendship - being together with the youth of the world! The great feeling of being together with social democrats and socialists from all over the world. The impression that great young
people are creating politics that one day will take an impact on political processes in Europe. All the young people here do know something about politics and try to formulate answers to question
concerning issues that are important for the youth of the world - like education, jobs, housing situation etc.
Why do you engage yourself in a socialist or social democratic youth organization?
Simply because I believe in social democracy - not only as a political directions but also as a way of life!
Which aims should be central to the IUSY in the next century of its existence?
Creating peace - this has to be the prior aim: peace that includes all Third World countries. Slovenia is just a small European country and the participance in an international social
democratic youth movement gives one a big opportunity to get to know what is happening in the respective youth organizations in other parts of the world - like Africa or the Middle East. IUSY is an
important organization as it makes up a talking forum for the youth of the world.

Our political system is a very special one. We need to gather the experience and would like to feel the solidarity of the worldwide organized IUSY member organizations. The left in Israel is
very weak - Meretz is the only real leftist party in our country.
Why do you engage yourself in a socialist or social democratic youth organization?
First of all, in my country it is a matter of life and death to politically engage yourself or not. Only if you are politically engaged you can take an impact on the government`s policies.
Concerning the conflict, we definitely need to start the peace process again. Moreover, we need to fight for the enforcement of civil rights (gay rights, human rights, women`s rights etc.) as
Israel is a religious state.

The IUSY is a powerful organization that can promote and initiate changes through applying our ideology. The debates we do have here are rich and inspiring. The world could very much profit
from these debates if the authorities would comply with our demands.
Why do you engage yourself in a socialist or social democratic youth organization?
First of all, socialism is a concept which is cherished by most of the politicians who have a real vision for their communities, people, countries and the world. For being part of the
socialist community, it is necessary to take part in the activities of the IUSY - the youth wing of the Socialist International.
Which aims should be central to the IUSY in the next century of its existence?
Fighting for decent work! It should be of primary importance to bridge the gap between rich and poor - the eradication of poverty has to be further promoted!
